different forms of a word or term

In your Admiral of the Fleet edit summary, you wrote that we don't redirect between forms of a word. Another editor told me something different. That editor said that wiktionary does not have entries for the capitalized form of a noun that is sometimes, rather than always, capitalized. Under that logic, there would be no entry for Admiral of the Fleet only one for admiral of the fleet. A redirect makes sense and is common practice for comparable situations on other wikis. I'm not sure that what I'm writing is actually the consensus of Wiktionarians, but I think so. We do not have an entry for Such just because it's capitalized at the start of a sentence, or for Doctor just because it's capitalized when used as a title, but we do have one for Bible because it's a different word from bible. If we'd have Admiral of the Fleet at all, it'd be a separate entry, not a redirect; EP may have been right, though, to say we shouldn't have it at all. In general redirections are frowned upon here -- no matter what is done on other wikis -- because of the possibility -- either now or in the future -- that one spelling (or capitalization) have a meaning or usage -- however nuanced and in whatever language -- not in common with the other.—msh210℠ 02:50, 31 August 2008 (UTC)
