Thanks for your input and welcome to Wiktionary.
I think that there must be numberous problems in attempting to automate the translation process. Thanks for pointing out that some languages don't have a clear distinction of class (noun,verb,adjective...), could you give some examples of those languages, so I can include them in the problems list.
We could navigate around this problem by defining languages that not included in the automated translation (or linking) process (Russian for example has [noun]s with multiple meanings, and I have the feeling that Chinise and Japanese might have similar ...mmm.. glitches.
I'll try to chart the problem and define some solution proposal before I post to or link from the Wiktionary:Beer_parlour

- I'm sorry I don't remember the name of such a language. But I remember the discussion with someone who did linguistics. I will email her, so one day I might give you a name.
- Most languages I've heard of have different meanings for the same nouns including English.

Thanx for the math lesson. - Juho 13:02 Feb 22, 2003 (UTC)
Yes. I agree we need a common namespace where all the language namespaces would recide. Additionally there should be namespaces for classes of words in each language's space in the following manner:
- en:noun:hat
- de:noun:hut
I have some thoughts at my page on how having namespaces (combined with a little automation) could provide protection against vandalism --> Juho 19:15 Feb 26, 2003 (UTC)
