hello

[edit]

On this entry you added a translation marked "Malagasy tsimihety". I am not familiar with any language by that name. Also, the translations you added were capitalized. Are these words always capitlaized in Malagasy and Mongolian? --EncycloPetey 23:02, 25 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

When there are regional variants, they are listed in the translations under the same language heading, but may have a qualifier added. So, to deal with Brazilian Portuguese, we might have:
The {{qualifier}} template is used to indicate the restriction to one region, as needed, and the full explanation is given on the entry page itself. You can see one way this might be handled on the entries for curb (US) and kerb (UK). --EncycloPetey 23:41, 25 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
You are correct, and I use the {{t}} template often. I simply did not want to give you too much information all at once. The only point I was trying to make is that all translations in a single language may be placed on a single line, with the words separated by commas and regionalisms marked with a qualifier in parentheses. --EncycloPetey 15:38, 26 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
