Once again I'm dropping in after a long hiatus and once again I've swept the bulk of the previous contents of this page into the archives. Feel free to browse there, but don't expect a particularly edifying experience. --dmh 05:36, 3 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Very late...

[edit]

You've been NPOVd, apparently. <grin> - Amgine/talk 23:01, 24 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Well, it was a proper NPOV. Back in the wild and wooly old days, one could sneak such things in from time to time -dmh 05:17, 27 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Santana wind

[edit]

Where did you find the etymology for Santana wind? There seem to be some errors...you wrote that it might be from "vientos de Sanatanas" (“Satan's winds”). Sanatanas does not mean Satan or anything else. Did you intend to write "vientos de Satanás"? Satanás means Satan. If so, I still don’t see how Satanás could have evolved into Santana. Santana is a common Spanish name that is an alternative spelling of Santa Ana (Saint Anne). Santana and Santa Ana are pronounced identically in Spanish. For the moment, I am commenting out that part of the etymology. Please have a look and check your source. —Stephen (Talk) 09:04, 8 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Lakoff

[edit]

I was pleased to see you had a reference to George Lakoff in some discussions about the word at. Do you know of any effort to systemize some of his loose categories like Image Schemas or Root Metaphors ? Bcent1234 (talk) 21:12, 3 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
