Add topicHello. Please do not create Vulgar Latin entries that are identical to standard Latin entries, save for some regular phonetic developments: Reconstruction:Latin/ovicla is redundant to the attested ovicula. See Category talk:Vulgar Latin. Per utramque cavernam 19:27, 25 January 2019 (UTC)
*continēscō, past part *contingēscum ???
[edit]What is the evidence for such a past part? I changed it to the standard contingēscūtum, which more likely underlies Spanish, Portuguese acontecido. Benwing2 (talk) 21:06, 10 August 2019 (UTC)
- Sorry 'bout the rookie mistake, I just followed the "regular" paradigm without taking into account descendants, so thanks for the heads up. AuroraeLux (talk) 22:57, 10 August 2019 (UTC)
- Chipping again to say that I was looking at other inchoative Vulgar Latin verbs and thought that the long u in contingēscūtum would have derived as *acontecudo or *acontecodo, so I think that something like contingēscītum (with long i or it would become *acontecedo)is more accurate, what do you think?
