I was born in South Africa to an Afrikaans family. I have been speaking Afrikaans my entire life. Ever since I was very young, I have been exposed to English media. I was able to pick up English very easily.
I tried learning many languages before. The complete list is: Danish, Finnish, Czech, Slovenian, Serbian, Occitan, Hungarian, and Norwegian. There were also some other attempts where I just dipped my feet into it and did not really learn much.
Current and Future Projects
[edit]This user is currently working on
the Bourbonnais-Berrichon Wiktionary.
Currently, I am trying to add more entries to French Patois Languages. I started with the Bourbonnais-Berrichon language and I am planning to go to Poitevin-Saintongeais next. The list of languages I plan to do is: Champenois, Walloon, Norman, Bourguignon, Auvergnat, Vivaro-Provençal (Dauphinois), Provençal and Picard.
In the Future, I plan to migrate to Kočevje to try to conserve the Gottscheerish language and add it to Wiktionary. I also plan on buying many more dictionaries. Currently, I am eyeing the dictionary for Medoquin, which isn't on Wiktionary. If I do get it and decide to add it to wiktionary, I might just do what they did with Gascon (look at this for reference [1])
About Bourbonnais-Berrichon Wiktionary Contributions
[edit]All the entries I do for the Bourbonnais-Berrichon Wiktionary comes from the book Grammaire et Dictionnaire du Patois Bourbonnais (canton De Vareness), 1904, by Paul Duchon. This book does state that the words are Bourbonnais and even lists separate words for Berrichon. When looking at any entries I made, make sure to keep in mind that the word does not count for Berrichon if a separate one is given, but some words might actually also appear in Berrichon (with the way they are combined, I can't indicate which ones are so.)
This book is originally written in French and I don't speak French. I have tried my best to translate, having used methods of repeated testing to make sure I get the exact meaning of the word correct, but there are surely going to be a less accurate translations every now and then.
