Gothic

[edit]

Etymology

[edit]

from Proto-Germanic *Frijjō. Cognate with Old English Frīġ, Old High German Frī, and Old Norse Frigg.

Friddi f

  1. Frigg, the Gothic equivalent of Norse/Germanic goddess of married love, the heavens, home and hearth, wife of Odin. Equivalent to Roman Juno, Greek Hera, and Hindu Parvati. (These are my interpretations, as in Roman times Frigg was associated with Venus instead).
