Reply
[edit]I think it'd be more appropriate to give a separate reply here instead of directly modifying the text above.
First of all, I think @Octahedron80 would prefer to have each syllable separated by "-" without any blank space, because he's just added some features that enable automatic catagorisation based on syllable numbers. So, I will add "-" between all syllables (such as "สา-ทา-ระ-นะ-รัด-แอ๊บ..." instead of "สา-ทา-ระ-นะ-รัด แอ๊บ...").
Second, I have no idea about neutralised tones (such as "ระ" vs "ร̄ะ"). So, I won't show differences between tones and neutralised tones.
Third, the terms are pronounced as follows:
- สาธารณรัฐแอฟริกากลาง (sǎa-taa-rá-ná-rát-ɛ́p-frí-gaa-glaang, “Central African Republic”), สาธารณรัฐแอฟริกากลาง (sǎa-taa-ra-ná-rát-ɛ́p-frí-gaa-glaang, “Central African Republic”)
- "แอฟ" is pronounced with a short-vowel sound as "แอ็๊บ" rather than the long "แอ๊บ", whilst "ฟริ" should contain "." under "ฟ" as "ฟฺริ".
- บอตสวานา (bɔ́ɔt-sà-waa-nâa, “Botswana”), บอตสวานา (bɔ́ɔt-swǎa-nâa, “Botswana”)
- The first syllable has a high tone as "บ๊อด". The last syllable does have a high falling tone as "น่า"". I'm not sure if the first syllable can also be shortened as "บ็๊อด".
- อิเควทอเรียลกินี (ì-kwee-tɔɔ-rîial-gì-nii, “Equatorial Guinea”)
- "เรียล" has a high falling tone as "เรี่ยล". I'm not sure if anyone will pronounce it as "เรี่ยน".
- เลโซโท (lee-soo-too, “Lesotho”)
- Nothing's changed.
- กาบอง (gaa-bɔɔng, “Gabon”)
- Nothing's changed. But I'm not sure if the last syllable can also be shortened as "บ็อง" -- sometimes, it's really hard to differentate between the short "บ็อง" and the long "บอง".
- กินี-บิสเซา (gì-nii-bít-sao, “Guinea-Bissau”)
- "บิส" has a high tone as "บิ๊ด", based on this video (00:06).
- มอริเชียส (mɔɔ-rí-chíias, “Mauritius”), มอริเชียส (mɔɔ-rí-chîias, “Mauritius”)
- "เชียส" can be pronounced with a high tone as "เชี๊ยส" or with a high falling tone as "เชียส". I have no idea about pronouncing "ส" as "ด" in this case.
- สวาซิแลนด์ (sà-waa-sí-lɛɛn, “Swaziland”)
- คอโมโรส (kɔɔ-moo-róos, “Comoros”)
- "โรส" has a high tone as "โร้ส". I have no idea about pronouncing "ส" as "ด" in this case.
- เซาตูเมและปรินซีปี (sao-dtuu-mee-lɛ́-bprin-sii-bpii, “São Tomé and Príncipe”), เซาตูเมและปรินซีปี (sao-dtuu-mee-lɛ́-bprin-sii-bpîi, “São Tomé and Príncipe”)
- The last syllable can be neutral or toned, as shown above.
I hope @Octahedron80 will countercheck the pronunciations given above. --หมวดซาโต้ (talk) 08:31, 23 April 2017 (UTC)
