User:-sche/Sathmar
Appearance
Sathmar Swabian is descended from the Upper Swabian dialects its forebears spoke in Germany, and to which it remains very similar. Differences are due to the influence of the dialects of the minority of settlers who came from non-Swabian (e.g. Swiss) areas. Approximately 2-3% of its vocabulary (ranging from technical terms for "mine" and "forest cabin" to words for "uncle" and "immediately") is borrowed from Hungarian or Romanian, or very rarely other languages.
