Named after Thomas Stewart Traill, a friend of John James Audubon.

  1. A supposed species of tyrant flycatcher, now regarded as two distinct but closely related species: the alder flycatcher (Empidonax alnorum) and the willow flycatcher (Empidonax traillii).
