     In Taiwan three species of wireworms cause damage to germinating setts. To prevent this, the drill is first opened, and fertilizer is applied at the bottom of the drill. Aldrin dust at the rate of 1lb. of active ingredient per acre is then thoroughly incorporated in two or three inches of soil at the bottom of the drill, and white ants and black beetles, were seen on the Taiwan Sugar Corporation’s plantation at Touliu.
