Pronunciation
[edit]Proper noun
[edit]Tommi
- a male given name from Biblical Hebrew
- 1894, Santeri Alkio, Puukkojunkkarit, WSOY, published 1981, →ISBN, page 28:
- Just as he blustered and the others laughed their bellies out, the bedroom door swung open and Tommi Kasari stepped in. A sturdy man, whose broad shoulders were made even sturdier by the tight tailcoated jacket.
- 1946 Laila Järvinen, Peppi Pitkätossu (translation of Astrid Lindgren's Pippi Långstrump) WSOY, page 8:
- The children were very kind, well raised and obedient. Tommi never bit his nails, his hair was always groomed and he almost always did what his mother asked of him.
- 2017, Kia Walli, Avokadopastaa, Otava, →ISBN, page 213:
- Tommi.
- Tommi. Saili kept the name in her mouth. It started as a T in the palate and finished off in a soft I right between the lips. What a lovely name, Saili thought, she had never had a Tommi before. […] Saili and Tommi sounded to Salli at least as sexy and legendary as Bonnie and Clyde.
