[edit]From Medieval Latin Teoderici, genitive of the personal name Teodericus,[1] from a Suevic or Gothic personal name, from Proto-Germanic *Þeudarīks, from Proto-Germanic *þeudō (“people”) and *rīks (“king”).[2]
