Your audio uploads

Hi, thanks for the audio files! Would it be possible for you to name (and rename) them using the standard Wikimedia format "File:En-uk-Wiktionary.oga"? This will ensure that the {{WOTD}} template automatically picks them up for display on the main page. Otherwise, all the files will have to be manually specifed, which would be a bit of a pain. — SGconlaw (talk) 10:15, 4 July 2019 (UTC)

I'll add it to my list of things to do.

Sadly I can't move files on Wikicommons. Plus, I plan on getting myself blocked very soon, so I can tell you now, I'm not gonna do what you asked (and am not sorry about it either)

Er ... OK ... In that case, it's probably not very useful for you to insert the files into the entries. I just noticed that the {{audio}} template can't display them properly. It just shows up as a red link. Scratch that. Looks like it was a caching issue on my side. I can see the audio links now.

Yep, that's all WOTDs up to Sept 16 with audio recording with a perfectly valid name, minus a couple which are either long or are Trinidad English - it seems wrong for someone not from there to be recording an audio of that word. Also, I might have linked to one or two audios without actually having recorded an audio, for sloppiness reasons or possibly mild trolling.

The names are "perfectly valid" from an uploading point of view, but because they aren't in a standard naming format they won't be picked up by the template for display on the Main Page. That's why I encourage everyone creating pronunciation files to use the standard naming format.
