Thesaurus talk:randy

@AdamBMorgan: I think libidinous and its synonyms somewhat belong here as well, but I don't know where to put them (not in the synonyms section!). There's Thesaurus:libidinist, but that's a noun (and a rare one at that, so that's a rather badly named entry). What do you think? --Barytonesis (talk) 23:17, 18 November 2017 (UTC)

@Barytonesis Libidinous is different enough that you could create Thesaurus:libidinous as a separate page. Maybe as a hypernym of this page or maybe just linked via the See Also section. The terms libidinous ("having lustful desires") and randy ("sexually aroused") are definitely related but I'm not certain how they should be connected. Libidinous seems (to me) to be the broader sense than randy (and libidinous itself would be a hyponym of Thesaurus:sensual, so it could be arranged as sensual > libidinous > randy).

FYI: "libidinous" is currently a synonym on Thesaurus:promiscuous ("frequently changing sexual partners") but that's a similar case of somewhat belonging but not quite. Promiscuous is arguably also a hyponym of libidinous. Some terms, like lustful, are already synonyms on both Thesaurus:randy and Thesaurus:promiscuous.

I didn't even know Thesaurus:libidinist existed. It overlaps a bit with Thesaurus:libertine but could fit as a hyponym of that entry and hypernym of Thesaurus:promiscuous man/woman. - AdamBMorgan (talk) 14:38, 20 November 2017 (UTC)
