[edit]Borrowed from Albanian Tepelenë, which is probably ultimately from Ottoman Turkish تپه دلن (Tepedelen), the name of the city during Ottoman era. Alternatively from Albanian Tepe e Lenes or Illyrian *Antibylyne.
