Template talk:str right
Ah, I see. The reason this template keeps being deleted is because it relies on [str len], which is a recursive function and has been deleted with prejudice.
And the inability without this function to return all of a string except the first letter basically kills the ability to do initial mutation without manually splitting off the first letter.
Which is immensely frustrating: to have documentation for how to do this around the place, but not to actually have it available where it can actually do some good. --Catsidhe (talk) 02:22, 18 May 2012 (UTC)
Actually, strike that. It looks like it was deleted because nothing linked to it, and no-one defended it. How, then, should I go about requesting that [str len], [str sub] and [str len2] be brought back?
(Argh, this is frustrating. This isn't a function with no possible use, it's just that no-one had found a use for it yet. And now I've found that there is pretty well nothing else which can do what I need to do, the tools I need have been deleted away.) --Catsidhe (talk) 02:46, 18 May 2012 (UTC)
- WT:RFDO can be used for requests for undeletion as well as for deletion. Mglovesfun (talk) 12:01, 20 May 2012 (UTC)
