- It looks like it can be used to force a line break in a certain spot:
- foo foo foo foo foo bar bar bar bar bar
- Specifically, it ensures that there is no line break inside either the "foo" or "bar" part, but puts a space between them where the break can occur (but it's also possible for there to be no break if everything fits on one line).
