Does this template fit to all verbs ending with -nǫti? —Игорь Телкачь 16:53, 27 December 2014 (UTC)
- @CodeCat, Useigor I have a feeling this template cannot be used for all verbs in -nǫti. Or at least, a number of Russian verbs in -нуть have short forms in the past and in some participles that are missing the -ну-. For some verbs with short forms, the short forms are optional, and for other such verbs they're required. See отвергнуть for an example. I wouldn't be surprised to find that this needs to be projected back to Proto-Slavic, as in origin the -nǫ- is a present tense affix. Benwing2 (talk) 16:01, 15 March 2017 (UTC)
- @CodeCat, Useigor Do either of you know if other Slavic languages have similar short forms? Benwing2 (talk) 16:02, 15 March 2017 (UTC)
- I think OCS did, so that suggests it was similar in PS too. —CodeCat 19:27, 15 March 2017 (UTC)
