Should this template be formatted differently?

At present, the template is kind of confusing - it looks like "MC" is part of the reading. Do we need the MC in there, and if so, can it at least be not in italics and separated by a colon or something.

So instead of:

禪 (MC dzyen)

maybe something like

禪 (MC: dzyen)
