Spellings

There most likely often isn't a single form or an established form. E.g. besides Be there could be Bee (less likely) or Beh, besides Jot Jott, besides Em Emm etc.

• books.google.de/books?id=wDhf5Q3ID9wC&pg=PA14 lists German transcriptions, but that book isn't German and that doesn't mean that the transcriptions were common.
• duden.de has Effeff (ff), Jot, Ypsilon, Eszett (ß), Tezett (tz), Zett, Zet (well, with another meaning, so Zet for Z could be an older or unreformed spelling), ausixen (spelling ix represents the letter x). Also note that the spellings Eszett and Tezett do not necessarily imply that t is Te and s is Es as triple consonants were often reduced, like it's dennoch (denn + noch), Schiffahrt (Schiff + Fahrt), Wirtschaft (once also Wirtschafft).
• German Wikipedia ( de.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Deutsches_Alphabet&oldid=138412464#Namen_der_Buchstaben ) once had names, but they got removed, weren't always sourced, and Wikipedia is no reliable source.
• In books one can also find Eßzett and Esszett (or more correctly: Eſſzett, Eſszett), scharfes Eß and scharfes Ess (or: Eſſ, Eſs) and rarely scharfes Es, Vogelvau (Vau = v, as in the word Vogel).
