Karelian vs Livvi
[edit]Several pages using this template seem to be Livvi rather than Karelian proper. Is this a problem, though? The template does not seem to categorize anything, or even generate language-specific links. --Tropylium (talk) 22:28, 15 March 2015 (UTC)
- Not yet, but if it's not restricted to just Karelian entries, it never can either. So yes I think it's a problem. —CodeCat 22:39, 15 March 2015 (UTC)
- I actually can't seem to find a single instance where this template would be used with a declension in Karelian proper (they all have e.g. the characteristically Livvi -tu, -ty and -nnu, -nny for the partitive singular and essive endings, and the elative/ablative formed with a -päi element). Just renaming this might be the simplest.
- At the current state of things it might save even more time to just file Livvi as a Karelian dialect. But perhaps not in the long run, since Livvi and Karelian proper differ in their inflection in various matters. --Tropylium (talk) 01:50, 16 March 2015 (UTC)
- Renaming could easily be done with a bot. All that needs to be verified is that there are no cases where this template is used for a genuine Karelian inflection. And of course the entries themselves need to be renamed. But it's likely that they were all created by the same editor, so looking through their contributions should make them easy to find. —CodeCat 02:01, 16 March 2015 (UTC)
- Moved to
{{olo-decl}}
; any page using this template was Livvi, furthermore the template itself was Livvi (i.e. using cases nonexistent in Karelian proper) Thadh (talk) 15:57, 27 January 2021 (UTC)
