Deletion debate

Template:inuse

[edit]

I would like to see this template deleted for the same reasons as {{under construction}}. Quoting myself: "I have almost never seen this template used, and I think it should not be used. Each editor should leave an entry in a decent state after each edit; mistakes occur of course." While msh210 says he has seen {{inuse}} used, I still think that it is used rarely, and, above all, that it does not really need to be used and should not be used. Hence delete. --Dan Polansky 13:03, 20 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Weak keep, ideally yes, every edit should be perfect, but I don't object in principle to this. Because I have Firefox is I do get an edit conflict, when I hit the 'back' button on my browser I can recover the information I've just lost, so I wouldn't use this template. But if someone wants to use this, as long as it is responsibly, I don't mind so much. Mglovesfun (talk) 13:11, 20 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
I've used it, myself, to avoid annoying (though admittedly not data-losing) edit conflicts when making major edits to a page. I've also seen it use other than by myself. I like it (when it's used responsibly, as Martin says, which I take to exclude leaving it on a page for an extended time while not actively editing the page) and say to keep it.—msh210 (talk) 18:04, 21 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
It's not really a problem if it doesn't get used often, or even at all. It's not the sort of template that if it isn't used for a while, it should be deleted. Mglovesfun (talk) 11:52, 22 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Kept as no consensus.—msh210 (talk) 16:30, 17 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
