The following information has failed Wiktionary's deletion process.
It should not be re-entered without careful consideration.
Are there any differences between this and {{he-adj}}
? --Yair rand 02:37, 26 March 2010 (UTC)
- A redirect can't hurt. Mglovesfun (talk) 08:24, 26 March 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, there are differences, and yes, a redirect can hurt, since the two take different parameters. I would be happy for all instances of
{{he-adjective}}
to be replaced with instances of{{he-adj}}
, after which the former can be deleted; but I think a redirect would be more a hindrance than a help (since it would mean a sudden change in parameters). —RuakhTALK 10:18, 26 March 2010 (UTC){{en-adjective}}
exists as a redirect. I meant an eventual redirect, not an immediate one. But basically, yeah, go for it. Mglovesfun (talk) 23:19, 27 March 2010 (UTC)- The parameters are different, and the defaults are too: he-adj will guess the plurals given the feminine, while he-adjective will tag the entry for attention instead (which, incidentally, I prefer, but that's neither here nor there), which is a big difference that will require checking each entry before switching which template it uses; also, he-adj is only for masculine singular entries, while he-adjective is for either gender; also, he-adj takes
dwv
parameters, whereas he-adjective does not. Converting an entry using one to use the other will need to be done with a lot of care, and if we wind up keeping he-adj only then uses of he-adjective for feminine words will need to be switched to uses of he-infl-adj-form, while uses for masculine words will need to be switched to uses of he-adj. I don't mind contributing to this effort, I suppose, if there's consensus to get rid of one template, but, like I said, it should be done carefully.—msh210℠ (talk) 16:35, 30 June 2010 (UTC)- Template:he-adjective is now orphaned. I say delete.—msh210℠ (talk) 16:29, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
- Ah, the heck with it: I've deleted it. Everyone seems to be in agreement, after all. After enough time has passed, we can create it anew as a redirect to template:he-adj if desired.—msh210℠ (talk) 19:26, 5 August 2010 (UTC)
