Using named parameters

@Angr If it's necessary to add comments so that the positional parameters can be kept track of, would it not make more sense to just make the parameters named? Then the comments are no longer necessary. —CodeCat 18:47, 5 November 2015 (UTC)

Seems like six of one, half a dozen of the other to me, but if you want to switch over to named parameters and then convert all the transclusions of the template to the new format (or send MewBot out to do it), I won't stop you. Better yet would be a Lua module making it possible to use just one template for all noun-declension classes, but I don't know how to write Lua modules. —Aɴɢʀ (talk) 21:09, 5 November 2015 (UTC)

I meant an all-in-one template where the terms don't have to all be added manually, but most could be predicted just from the gender and principal parts (nominative singular, genitive singular, nominative plural) as with {{ga-decl-m1}}, {{ga-decl-f2-nopl}}, and the rest. Having a module correctly generate the mutated forms so we could get red of {{ga lenition}}, {{ga lenition an}}, {{ga eclipsis}}, and {{ga eclipsis an}} would also be a desideratum. —Aɴɢʀ (talk) 21:31, 5 November 2015 (UTC)
