(Notifying Atitarev, Benwing2, Cinemantique, Useigor, Wikitiki89, Stephen G. Brown, Fay Freak, Tetromino, Per utramque cavernam): : It seems that this template is only ever used for Russian. Now the question is: are there any cases when ‘endearing forms’ do not coincide with diminutives so it would make sense to separate the two? Guldrelokk (talk) 04:17, 18 April 2019 (UTC)
- @Guldrelokk Yeah, I created this for Russian. The reason was that (1) some diminutives are defined as уменьш.-ласк. or similar on ruwikt and others just as уменьш., and (2) some other dictionaries (e.g. Efremova) list the diminutive meaning (уменьш.) and endearing-form (ласк.) meanings separately. If all diminutives can be endearing, and all endearing forms diminutive, then we don't need it. If on the other hand there are only two categories, non-endearing diminutives and endearing diminutives, then we can create 'endearing diminutive of' (уменьш.-ласк.) and obsolete this template. - @Benwing2, Guldrelokk: I think the endearing category should be a subset of diminutives. Not all diminutives can belong there but any endearing is also a diminutive, always, at least at my first assessment. --Anatoli T. (обсудить/вклад) 04:48, 18 April 2019 (UTC)
