The only purpose of these over {{comparative of}}
and {{superlative of}}
is displaying "more FOO" and "most FOO" after the comparative of/superlative of text. I'm not sure how helpful or necessary this is. Does the reader really need to be told that brainier is "comparative of brainy: more brainy"? We don't do this for any other languages. Benwing2 (talk) 22:35, 11 July 2023 (UTC)
- Seems like it would be helpful to readers unfamiliar with the terms “comparative” and “superlative”. — Sgconlaw (talk) 01:51, 12 July 2023 (UTC)
- Yes, I'm inclined to think that we should treat our English entries in particular with a lighter touch of linguistic jargon. I'd like to see the "more..."/"most..." bit kept. This, that and the other (talk) 03:43, 13 July 2023 (UTC)
- It's fine in my opinion. Btw I've seen it done manually for other languages, e.g. accuratius as a random example. —Al-Muqanna المقنع (talk) 15:19, 21 July 2023 (UTC)
