Deletion debate

[edit]

The following information has failed Wiktionary's deletion process.

It should not be re-entered without careful consideration.

Template:ciw

[edit]

Redundant to Template:oj. —CodeCat 18:51, 27 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Wouldn't redirecting it be better? —Angr 19:37, 27 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
We've already agreed not to redirect code templates because there are many cases where the code ends up broken despite the redirect. Redirects don't work for topical categories, for example. —CodeCat 19:46, 27 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
In that case, depopulate (since Special:WhatLinksHere/Template:ciw contains a moderate number of links) and then delete. —Angr 20:06, 27 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
Massasauga is essentially the only one outside in the main namespace. Mglovesfun (talk) 20:14, 27 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, but the categories and Wiktionary: pages shouldn't be left with redlinks either. —Angr 10:19, 28 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
I've added Category:Chippewa language to the heading, as this will be deleted and its subcategories if/when this fails. There are a few other pages to fix, I think the 'list of languages' pages are maintained by bot, so they will only contain red links until the next bot run.
