Converbal constructions

[edit]

@AryamanA, @DerekWinters Hi, what are the grammatical terms for these two converbal constructions?

  1. তাইৰ দেৰিকে আহাত চাৰে তাইক ক্লাছত সোমাব নিদিলে।
tair derike ahat sare taik klasot xümabo nidile.
Since she came late, the teacher didn't allow her to enter into the class.
  2. সি আহোঁতে মই চাহ খাই আছিলোঁ।
xi ahü̃te moi sah khai asilü̃.
When he came, I was drinking tea.
aha-t = since came
ah-ü̃te = when came

@Sagir Ahmed Msa: I am not entirely sure. Maybe it's just a postposition attached to a verbal noun? (On a side note, DerekWinters is on a wikibreak, he won't be here for a while). —AryamanA (मुझसे बात करेंयोगदान) 21:07, 21 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

@AryamanA The 1st one. What the second one? Sagir Ahmed Msa (talk) 07:08, 22 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Sagir Ahmed Msa: I am not entirely sure. I found a paper that may be useful, but my knowledge of linguistics is not that great in this subfield. —AryamanA (मुझसे बात करेंयोगदान) 20:48, 22 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
