Language of template

[edit]

Since here on Wiktionary (unlike Wikipedia which has separate templates for Syriac & Jewish Aramaic), this template must be shared by both Syriac & Hebrew Aramaic users (being that Template:User tmr-1 was deleted by Metaknowledge (talkcontribs) back in 2013), and being that I, for one, can hardly read Syriac (they don't teach that in yeshiva), I think that this template should remain in English.

Another option would be to have both scripts in the same template, looking something like this:

arc-1 ܗܢܐ ܡܦܠܚܢܐ ܝܕܥ ܫܘܬܣ̈ܐ ܕܠܫܢܐ ܐܪܡܝܐ.

משתמש הדא יכיל למיתרם בחד או טפי מלישניא ‬ דארמיא בדרגא פשיטא.‏

(The Syriac should be modfied so that it reads "one or more Aramaic languages".)

Pinging also Bequw (talkcontribs) (who tagged this template for rfc) and fellow arc users Giemmeci (talkcontribs), Isaacmayer9 (talkcontribs), Msh210 (talkcontribs), Noozman (talkcontribs), and Wikitiki89 (talkcontribs).

P.S. Same applies to Template:User arc-2. --Sije (talk) 19:11, 4 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

The template was deleted because we don't use tmr as a separate language code here. Usually, our arc entries are in Hebrew script and our syc entries in Syriac script. We could just convert these templates to use Hebrew script exclusively, if that's preferred. —Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 23:11, 4 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
