@J3133: not necessary, I think. If multiple authors have the same surname (e.g., Smith), my personal rules of thumb are to assign the best known author the surname alone, but if two or more are equally well-known then the one with the longest name gets the surname alone. In this case, {{RQ:Elizabeth Barrett Browning […]}} seemed far too long, so {{RQ:Robert Browning […]}} it was. After the author with the surname alone has been assigned, I either use the full name of other authors (as with Robert Browning), or add initials if the full name is also very long (e.g., {{RQ:R. F. Burton Arabian Nights}}. Finally, to aid sorting at “Category:English quotation templates”, I add a sorting key on the documentation subpage like this: “Browning, Robert […]”. The comma ensures that Robert Browning’s works don’t end up in between Elizabeth Barrett Browning’s in the category. What do you think? — Sgconlaw (talk) 12:47, 17 May 2023 (UTC)
