• SUM-11 is because there is 20-volume SUM-20 which is not finished yet, with the same name.

So what is it that gets lost by my reverts to the template? Again, the tradition is to have the headword as the first item, and if those who control {{cite-meta}} cannot get this right, we need to use other means. Furthermore, I am very much opposed by this coup by template introduction. Let me put it differently: let those who want to place {{cite-meta}} to every further reading template they can get their hands on show they have at least 60%-supermajority. I oppose this. About diff:

It produces the following appearance, which I find OK:

• word in Bilodid I. K., editor (1970–1980) Slovnyk ukrajinsʹkoji movy, Kiev: Naukova Dumka.

It does so by using {{cite-book}} (calling {{cite-meta}}), which is an overkill to produce a very simple markup, and is subject to various unwise changes as we have seen in the past. Links to sum.in.ua generated by this template no longer work due to transliteration

This template generates links to sum.in.ua with the dictionary word in Cyrillic script (whether it is explicitly specified as a parameter or substituted with the article name by default). This worked great for some time, but presently clicking on all such links results in user landing on "Word not found" page because apparently sum.in.ua stopped accepting Cyrillic script in URL and now requires the URL to contain the target word in Latin transliteration.

For example, the template generates http://sum.in.ua/s/притулок for "притулок" article, but the only URL that is accepted by the sum.in.ua is http://sum.in.ua/s/prytulok.

I see two possible solutions to this:

1. Start explicitly inserting Latin transliteration as a parameter into every instance of template use, like so: {{R:uk:SUM-11|prytulok}}, which generates a valid link, but looks ugly on wiki page: Bilodid, I. K., editor (1970–1980), “prytulok”, in Словник української мови: в 11 т. [Dictionary of the Ukrainian Language: in 11 vols] (in Ukrainian), Kyiv: Naukova Dumka
2. Add additional parameter to the template so that both original Cyrillic form can be used for wiki display purposes and transliterated Latin form can be used for external link generation.
