Bad params category

[edit]

@Vorziblix Why is the template manually adding entries to Category:Pages using invalid parameters when calling Template:R:mch:Hall? This isn't how those categories are supposed to be used, and it's only checking one parameter (then passing it anyway for some reason). What's your intention here? My intention is to clean up all the entries that have the head= parameter. The cited source isn't a dictionary or other sort of work that has entries for particular words, so it shouldn't be citing words that way; relevant passages (including mentions of words, where appropriate) should be cited with passage= instead. However, each instance needs manual checking, and in the interim displaying things with head, as they are now, is preferable to disabling the parameter entirely, even if it's not technically being used correctly.
Basically, I'm using it as a cleanup category. I originally created a different category outside the category tree instead for the purpose; maybe such a solution would be preferable? The actual name/structure of the cleanup category used doesn't particularly matter to me, so feel free to change it to something else if it's bothersome with the current setup. — Vorziblix (talk · contribs) 00:14, 8 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
