@Panda10, I think this template should be replaced with {{R:MHSz 2017}} wherever we actually refer to the content of the latter. The regulations actually comprise this much and nothing more, even if its print editions normally have a word list attached to them as well as a summary of the recent changes (I'm not sure if it's exhaustive). Or if we do refer to its word list, it should be clarified, but I think the other template is better (as that dictionary is much more comprehensive). It may be frustrating to realize that there is no related content in the reference supplied as the source.

Also, since the alternative (now unofficial) forms are still fairly recent, found in many literary texts, so I think they should be given under Alternative forms, with the note "superseded" (and clarifying the sense if necessary, like I did here). I'm open to any other suggestions, of course. Adam78 (talk) 18:53, 3 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Adam78 It's a good idea to use {{R:MHSz 2017}}. For the superseded forms, yes, they can be placed under Alternative forms. If the superseded form is one word, it should have its own entry to display the inflected forms still found in older literature. Panda10 (talk) 19:04, 3 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Panda10 If you look up the description for {{alter}}, you can see there is a function for this purpose, see also the implementations for Bulgarian, Russian, or Portuguese (at the end of the latter). We should create something similar for Hungarian. Maybe one label for pre-2015, another for pre-1984, and possibly for pre-1954, pre-1922, and pre-1901 (see w:hu:A magyar helyesírás szabályai, 11th ed., and 12th ed. changes; some day I might create the 10th ed. changes as well). This way the display of these forms could be made uniform while also giving information about the date and the scope of the change. The Wikipedia article given as the link should be expanded though. I've made a category for the instances where no section was provided. Adam78 (talk) 10:58, 8 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Adam78 It's great that {{alter}} has this function and that you discovered it, it will be useful. But I don't understand why it is important to have this new category to list entries with missing section number. I thought you wanted to replace {{R:hu:AkH2015}} (where the section parameter exists) with {{R:MHSz 2017}} (where there are no parameters). Panda10 (talk) 21:20, 8 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Panda10 It is only for maintenance purposes, so that we can eventually eliminate all these instances and keep AkH2015 only where we intend to reference a particular section. I think there is a way to make it a hidden category, though it might also serve as an implicit warning against "blank" (obscure) references (which have little or no value or use) so that they can be fixed later. @Adam78 I've just created Module:hu:Dialects and tested it in mamut. The link to Wikipedia is pointing to the English wikipedia, and I'm not sure how to change the module to point to the Hungarian wiki. Panda10 (talk) 17:12, 18 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Panda10 Thank you very much! It's great to have this function. I just added hu: before the article name and now it's apparently working fine. Adam78 (talk) 18:07, 18 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
