[edit]Template for Japanese etymologies. Shortcut for adding wasei eigo etymologies, and adds entries to Category:Japanese pseudo-loans from English.
Usage
[edit]The simplest case:
{{wasei eigo|sort=わんまん}}-- produces:
Wasei eigo (和製英語; pseudo-anglicism)
This also adds the page to Category:Japanese pseudo-loans from English, and correctly indexes the entry to the reading わんまん (wanman).
For wasei eigo terms deriving directly from English terms:
{{wasei eigo|sort=わんまん|one|man}}-- produces:
Wasei eigo (和製英語; pseudo-anglicism), derived from one + man
This also adds the page to Category:Japanese pseudo-loans from English, and correctly indexes the entry to the reading わんまん (wanman).
Parameters
[edit]{{{1}}}to{{{4}}}(optional): takes up to four English words and links each one to its English entry.sort=(optional): it is basically required in order to correctly sort kanji-spelled entries in the Category:Japanese pseudo-loans from English category index.nocap=(optional): fill this parameter with any text to spell wasei without capital letter if it is not the first word in the etymology section.nocat=(optional): fill this parameter with any text to prevent the addition of the "Wasei eigo" category
