This template is used to attribute comments on discussion pages to users who did not sign them. It may be either substituted or transcluded; practice seems to prefer transclusion.
Usage
This template takes the following parameters:
|1=(optional)- the username of the user who posted the comment.
|2=(optional)- a timestamp indicating when the comment was posted.
|diff=(optional)- id of the diff in which the comment was added

A gadget called ⚓ can be enabled in in your preferences (or in per-browser preferences for unregistered users), which when viewing a diff or an old revision of a page, generates a complete template invocation, which you may copy into the clipboard by clicking on a [✎] link near the page header.
