This template is intended for Portuguese contractions. This template works very similarly to {{pt-adj}} and largely takes the same parameters, but categorizes into Category:Portuguese contractions instead of Category:Portuguese adjectives (and other generated categories will similarly have contractions in their names instead of adjectives). The following are the principal differences in parameters from {{pt-adj}}:

1. Parameters for comparative, superlative, diminutive and augmentative forms are not available.
2. Parameters |n=, |n2=, ... and corresponding qualifiers |n_qual=, |n2_qual=, ... are available to specify a neuter form of a pronoun that forms part of the contraction (see below).

Examples

For the contraction pelo (“for/by the”), use:

which produces

pelo (feminine pela, masculine plural pelos, feminine plural pelas)

For the contraction ao (“to the”), use:

{{pt-contr-adj|f=à}}

which produces

ao (feminine à, masculine plural aos, feminine plural às)

Here, the default pluralization algorithm generates the masculine and feminine plurals (the latter based on the specified feminine singular).

For the contraction daquele (“of/from that (over there)”), use:

{{pt-contr-adj|f=daquela|n=daquilo}}

which produces

daquele (feminine daquela, masculine plural daqueles, feminine plural daquelas, neuter daquilo)

For the contraction nele (“in him/it”), use:

{{pt-contr-adj|f=nela}}

which produces

nele (feminine nela, masculine plural neles, feminine plural nelas)
