Template:merge/documentation
The behavior of this template depends on the namespace. It is used primarily for transwikis, templates categories and Thesaurus, and on the talk page of templates. It can also be used on dictionary entries to indicate that two entries for similar terms contain duplicate information. In these cases the request is not actually for either page to be deleted, but just for the information to be consolidated on one page, and the other left as a soft redirect to it.
Enter the template with the other page to be merged as the first parameter, e.g. {{merge|Template:rfm}}
.
The template produces a link to the page Wiktionary:Requests for moves, mergers and splits, to a section named with the current pagename. If another section title is more appropriate, it can be indicated with the parameter fragment=
, e.g.
{{merge|Template:rfm|fragment=Merge Template:merge with Template:rfm}}
