Documentation for Template:m-lite. [edit]
This page contains usage information, categories, interwiki links and other content describing the template.

{{l-lite}}, {{l-self-lite}} and {{m-lite}} are intended to be very lightweight replacements for {{l}}, {{l-self}} and {{m}} on pages that exceed the Lua memory limit. They have many of the same features, but lack almost all of the automation. As such, script codes (other than Latn), transliterations etc. must be entered manually.

Usage:

{{l-lite|LANGUAGE CODE|PAGE NAME|optional DISPLAY TEXT|optional GLOSS}}
{{l-lite|LANGUAGE CODE|PAGE NAME|t=optional GLOSS}}
{{l-lite|LANGUAGE CODE||UNLINKED DISPLAY TEXT|optional GLOSS}}
{{m-lite|LANGUAGE CODE|PAGE NAME|optional DISPLAY TEXT|optional GLOSS}}
{{m-lite|LANGUAGE CODE|PAGE NAME|t=optional GLOSS}}
{{m-lite|LANGUAGE CODE||UNLINKED DISPLAY TEXT|optional GLOSS}}
{{l-self-lite|LANGUAGE CODE|PAGE NAME|optional DISPLAY TEXT}}

Examples:

These templates are intended to be very simple. Therefore, the scope of the templates has been defined as follows:

  • The templates do not call into Lua, ever.
  • They do not support multiple links by placing square brackets inside the template parameters (such as {{m|en|[[green]] [[leaf]]}}). Continue to use {{l}} and {{m}} in these cases.
  • Automatic normalisation of entry names (for example, the removal of macrons in Latin) is not provided. Use parameter 3 in these cases: {{m-lite|la|apposco|appōscō}}

The following additional parameters are supported:

|t= or |4= (optional)
|sc= (required, unless the term is in the Latin script)
|tr= (required, if the term would normally display a transliteration)
|ts= (required, if the term would normally display a transcription)
|g=, |g2=, |g3= (optional)
Note: this is currently limited to 3.
|pos= (optional)
|lit= (optional)
|id= (optional)
