Template:ko-attest

From Wiktionary, the free dictionary

First attested as Undetermined [Term?]

This template is used to show historical attestations of Korean words. Please only use it under the header Etymology.

Unlike {{ko-etym-native}}, this template (by design) does not add any categories. Use in tandem with {{inh}}, {{der}}, {{cog}}, {{bor}}, et cetera as necessary.

Work presets

[edit]

Some common works are available in shorthand via dedicated templates. Below is an exhaustive list of such templates.

Parameters

[edit]
|1= (required)
The language code (see Wiktionary:Languages) of the source language of the attested form. This should almost always be one of ko-ear, okm, or oko, although it is not enforced by the template.
|2=
The attested form itself. If empty, generates a term request ([Term?]) and tracks it via Wiktionary:Tracking/ko-attest/missing attested form.
|alt=
An alternative display form to show for the term. See {{l}} and {{m}}.
|t=
A gloss/translation for the term. See {{l}} and {{m}}.
|tr=
A transliteration for the term. See {{l}} and {{m}}.
|3= or |work=
The title of the work wherein the attested form was first recorded. The underscore (_) can be used to produce spaces in the transliteration only. If empty, tracks it via Wiktionary:Tracking/ko-attest/missing work.
|same=1
Shows "in the same source" as the place of attestation, overriding |work=, |year=, etc. if specified. This is especially useful when using one of the work presets above. Do not write out "in the same source" manually, as this will be tracked as problematic as per above. Using this parameter instead will suppress tracking.
|work_tr=
An optional transliteration override for the work title.
|quotes=
Surrounds the work title in double quotes instead of italicizing it. Should be used for short works such as songs or poems.
|4= or |work_hanja=
The hanja form of the work title.
|5= or |year=
The year the work was produced in.
|volume=
If applicable, the volume number of where the attested form was first recorded.
|page=
If applicable, the page number of where the attested form was first recorded.
|url=
The URL or web address of an external website where the original work can be accessed.
|hapax=1, |hapax=2, |hapax=3, and |hapax=4
Marks the attested form as a hapax legomenon, dis legomenon, tris legomenon, or tetrakis legomenon, respectively.
|h=first or |header=first (default)
Displays the text "First attested as" before the attestation.
|h=also or |header=also
Displays the text "Also attested as" before the attestation.
|h=hangeul, |h=hangul, |header=hangeul, or |header=hangul
Displays the text "In the Hangeul script, first attested as" before the attestation.
|h=none or |header=none
Suppresses the text before the attestation.
|nocap=1
Suppresses capitalization of the text before the attestation.
