Buddhist term, imported into Japanese when Buddhism was introduced to Japan, some time during the Kofun, Asuka, and Nara periods.


Description

This is a simple template intended for inclusion in the ===Etymology=== section of Japanese terms that derive from Buddhist sources during the initial period of the transmission of Buddhism to Japan (i.e. the Nara period or earlier).

Usage

This template takes no arguments. Simply call the template as below:

to produce:
