Genericized trademark


This template is used in etymology sections, for terms originate from trademarks, brands and company names which have become genericized; that is, fallen into common usage in the target market's vernacular, even when referring to other competing brands.

Parameters

|1= – required
The language code (see Wiktionary:Languages) for the language of the current etymology.
|title=
(optional) Overrides the default text that is displayed.
|nocap=1
(optional) Shows the default text with a lowercase initial letter.
|notext=1
(optional) Don't display any text.
|nocat=1
(optional) Don't categorise the entry.
|sort=
(optional) The sort key to use for categories.
