This paradigm applies to Faroese female nouns such as gjógv (“cleft”). For historical reasons, ó alternates with ógv in certain forms. A-umlaut also occurs in the plural and the genitive singular.
- gj (first part of the stem)
- ó (stem vowel)
- gv (last part of the stem)
- á (alternating vowel)
