Template:etystub

From Wiktionary, the free dictionary

This etymology is incomplete. You can help Wiktionary by elaborating on the origins of this term.

Usage

The {{etystub}} template is used to mark an etymology which is a stub: information in an Etymology section that is overly short and/or lacking detail. {{etystub}} should normally be used directly after the end of an etymology, on the same line, not on a new line.

Parameters

|1= (required)
The language code of the term needing its etymology expanded. See Wiktionary:List of languages.
|sort=
The sort key for the page; rarely needs to be specified.
|nocat=1
Disable categorization of this page.
|nocap=1
Display the initial letter of the message lowercase instead of capitalized.
|nodot=1
Omit the period at the end of the messsage.

This template adds the page to the subcategory of Category:Requests for expansion of etymologies by language designated by the language code specified using |1=.
