Uses Lua:

This template is like {{senseid}} (which see for more), but meant to be used for specific etymologies rather than specific senses.

Hypothetical example:

{{etymid|en|structure}}
From {{inh|en|enm|hous}}, {{m|enm|hus}}...

This template is normally invisible. However, you can make it visible by turning on the ShowIDs gadget in your gadget preferences (for logged-in users) or Wiktionary:Preferences for users without an account (for logged-out users).
