This template should be used just under the ‘Proper noun’ header for Egyptian proper nouns, specifying the gender and the hieroglyphic writing.
Basic usage is
{{egy-proper noun|m|head=<hiero></hiero>}}
Parameters
|1=
or|g=
- The gender (and number). Use
m
for the masculine singular,m-d
for the masculine dual,m-p
for the masculine plural,f
for the feminine singular,f-d
for the feminine dual, orf-p
for the feminine plural. For toponyms that were originally masculine but later often treated as feminine, usem-topo
. |g2=
- An alternative gender.
|head=
- Specify the hieroglyphic writing here, enclosed in WikiHiero tags (
<hiero></hiero>
). |head2=
- An alternative hieroglyphic writing; preferably do not use this, but use an ‘Alternative forms’ subheader with
{{egy-hieroforms}}
instead.
