Usage

[edit]

This template creates a declension table for Lower Sorbian masculine nouns belonging to one of classes 19, 20, 21, or 22 in both Jannasch's Deutsch-niedersorbisches Wörterbuch/Słownik němsko-delnjoserbski and Starosta's Dolnoserbsko-nimski słownik/Niedersorbisch-deutsches Wörterbuch, hence the name.

Class 19 includes those masculine nouns ending in:

  • -g
  • -ch
  • -k.

Class 20 includes those masculine nouns ending in:

  • -c
  • -s
  • -tš
  • -z
  • .

Class 21 includes those masculine nouns ending in

  • -j
  • -l
  • -sć
  • -šć
  • -zdź
  • .

Class 22 includes those masculine nouns ending in

  • -b (with genitive in -bja)
  • -p (with genitive in -pja)
  • -w (with genitive in -wja).

The template takes one or two obligatory parameters:

  • For class 20 and 21 nouns, except class 20 nouns in -tš and person-related class 21 nouns in -al, just list the nominative singular as the only parameter.
  • For class 19 and 22 nouns and for class 20 nouns in -tš, except person-related class 22 nouns in -aŕ, the first parameter is the first part of the noun before the final consonant(s), and the second parameter is the final consonant(s) (one of g, ch, k, b, ń, p, ŕ, , or w). Adding the final consonant as a second parameter works for the other class 20 and 21 nouns as well, but it is not necessary for them.
  • For person-related class 21 nouns in -al and class 22 nouns in -aŕ, the first parameter is the stem of the noun before the -al/-aŕ suffix, and the second parameter is al or .

In addition the optional parameter |animate=1 must be set for animate nouns whose accusative has the same form as the genitive. This includes all person-related nouns ending in -al or -aŕ.

For example, for the class 19 inanimate word buk, add:
