Usage
This template can be used in two ways to implement the policy WT:DEROGATORY:
- To tag a derogatory entry for speedy deletion if, after 14 days, the entry does not meet Wiktionary's attestation requirements. The entry tagged is categorized in "Category:Entries tagged as derogatory".
- To generate boilerplate text when nominating a derogatory entry for deletion or verification.
Parameters
- When tagging an entry
|1=
or|date=
(required) – the date when the entry was created. Several date formats are supported, such asJanuary 15, 2020
,15 January 2020
, or2020-01-15
.|text=
– additional text to be added to the tag.
- When generating boilerplate
|rfd=1
or|rfv=1
(required) – if nominating an entry for deletion specify|rfd=1
, and if nominating one for verification specify|rfv=1
. When using the template in this way, remember to add a signature and timestamp by typing four tildes (~~~~
) after the template.|1=
or|date=
(required) – the date when the entry was nominated for deletion or verification.
- In both situations
|ldl=
or|LDL=
– mandatory in some cases: if applying the template to an entry from a limited-documentation language, use this parameter to indicate that the minimum number of quotations is one instead of three.|nocat=1
– to prevent the entry or page that the template is used on from being added to a category. In most cases it should not be necessary to use this parameter, as the template only adds a category if it is used in a mainspace entry.

- When generating boilerplate

This entry, or one or more of its senses, has been nominated as derogatory pursuant to WT:DEROGATORY. As it is from a limited-documentation language, it may be speedily deleted if it does not have at least one quotation meeting the attestation requirements within two weeks of the nomination date, that is, by 14 January 2022.
