This template is used on the definition line of a Mandarin romanization.

Usage

The following example shows you how to use the parameters in this template using the entry jīròu.

This:

# {{cmn-pinyin of|肌肉}}
# {{cmn-pinyin of|雞肉}}

produces this:

1. Hanyu Pinyin reading of 肌肉
2. Hanyu Pinyin reading of 雞肉／鸡肉

Only supply the Traditional Chinese form; if there is a distinct Simplified Chinese form, it will be shown automatically.

You can include additional variant forms in |2= through |10=, which will be displayed in the same way as |1=. Example for lián:

# {{cmn-pinyin of|聯|聮|䏈|聫|聨|𦕱}}

which produces:

1. Hanyu Pinyin reading of 聯／联, 聮, 䏈, 聫, 聨, 𦕱

If a given form doesn't exist, the entry is categorized in Category:Hanyu Pinyin entries without Hanzi.

Note that the headword line of a Mandarin romanization should normally use {{cmn-pinyin}} without any parameters. For example, for jīròu, the full text of the language section might read:
