This template is used to cite theses. It is implemented using {{cite-meta}}.

A user has added this template to requests for deletion(+).
Please see that page for discussion and justifications. You may continue to edit this template while the discussion proceeds, but please mention significant edits at the RFD discussion and ensure that the intention of votes already cast is not left unclear. Do not remove the {{rfd}} until the debate has finished.

Parameters

|year= or |1= (optional)
The year the thesis was published. If neither this parameter nor |date= is given, a message will be displayed requesting the date of publication.
|author= or |2=; |author2=, ... |author5= (optional)
Each |authorN= overrides the corresponding |lastN= and |firstN=. |author1= does not work.
|title= or |3= (required)
The title of the thesis.
|publisher= or |4= (optional)
|type= or |5= (optional)
Defaults to Thesis.
|url= or |6= (optional)
A URL or web address of a website where the full text of the thesis may be accessed.
|page= or |7= or |pages= (optional)
The page number (|page=) or range of pages (|pages=) being cited. Use an en dash (–) to separate the page numbers in a range.
|passage= or |quote= or |text= or |8= (optional)
A quote from the thesis. The quote will be formatted as a separate paragraph if it exceeds 150 words. This can be overridden (in either direction) by {{
|t= or |translation= or |9= (optional)
An English translation of the quote.
|last=, |last2=, ... |last5= (optional)
The last names of each of the authors. Each |lastN= is overridden by the corresponding |authorN=. |last1= does not work.
|first=, |first2=, ... |first5= (optional)
The first names of each of the authors. Each |firstN= requires that the corresponding |lastN= be given, and is overridden by the corresponding |authorN=. |first1= does not work.
|coauthors= (optional)
Additional authors to list after all of the ones given in |authorN= or |firstN= and |lastN=.
|authorlink=, |authorlink2=, ... |authorlink5= (optional)
The names of English Wikipedia articles about each author. Do not include the w: or en: prefixes.
|quotee= (optional)
The name of the person being quoted, if the whole passage quoted is a quotation of someone other than the author.
|chapter= (optional)
The title of the chapter being cited.
|chapterurl= (optional)
A URL or web address of a website where the full text of the cited chapter can be accessed.
|entry= (optional)
The title of the entry being cited.
|entryurl= (optional)
A URL or web address of a website where the full text of the cited entry can be accessed.
|trans-chapter= or |trans-entry= (optional)
An English translation of the title of the cited chapter or entry.
|trans= or |translator= or |translators= (optional)
A semicolon-separated list of the translator(s) of the thesis.
|editor= (optional) or |editors= (optional)
The name(s) of the editor(s) of the thesis.
|trans-title= (optional)
An English translation of the title of the thesis.
|series= (optional)
The series the thesis belongs to.
|seriesvolume= (optional)
The volume number of the thesis within the series specified by |series=.
|archiveurl= (optional)
A URL or web address of an online archive where the thesis can be accessed.
|archivedate= (optional)
The date on which the archive specified by |archiveurl= was made.
|edition= (optional)
The edition number of the edition being cited.
|location= (optional)
A semicolon-separated list of the locations where the book was published.
|month= (optional)
The month in which the book was published.
|year_published= (optional)
If |year= is used to specify the year when the original version of the thesis was published, this parameter indicates the year of publication of the cited version.
|date= (optional)
The date on which the book was published. The date is simply displayed as given, so any date format can be used, though YYYY-MM or YYYY-MM-DD is recommended. If neither this parameter nor |year= is given, a message will be displayed requesting the date of publication.
|genre= (optional)
|language= or |lang= or |worklang= (optional)
The language that the thesis is written in.
|volume= (optional)
The volume number of the cited volume.
|issue= (optional)
The issue number of the cited issue.
|others= (optional)
Any other information about the thesis.
|section= (optional)
The title of the cited section.
|sectionurl= (optional)
A URL or web address of a website where the full text of the cited section may be accessed.
|pageurl= or |link= (optional)
A URL or web address of a website where the full text of the cited page may be accessed.
|column= (optional) or |columns= (optional)
The column number (|column=) or range of column numbers (|columns=) being cited. Use an en dash (–) to separate the column numbers in a range.
|columnurl= (optional)
A URL or web address of a website where the full text of the cited column may be accessed.
|bibcode= (optional)
The bibcode of the thesis.
|doi= (optional)
The digital object identifier of the thesis.
|isbn= (optional)
The International Standard Book Number of the thesis.
|issn= (optional)
The International Standard Serial Number of the thesis.
|jstor= (optional)
The JSTOR number of the thesis.
|lccn= (optional)
The Library of Congress Control Number of the thesis.
|oclc= (optional)
The w:OCLC number of the thesis.
|pmid= (optional)
The PubMed Identifier of the thesis.
|ssrn= (optional)
The Social Science Research Network number of the thesis.
|id= (optional)
Another identifier for the book (not listed above).
|text_block= or |passage_block= (optional)
Used to override the default behaviour of formatting the quote as a separate paragraph if it exceeds 150 words. Valid values are no and yes.
